We are proud to announce two official certification pathways for practicing Interventional
Endocrinologists. These programs are designed to recognize clinical excellence, validate
expertise in percutaneous thyroid ablation (radiofrequency ablation, etc), and advance
the field through rigorous standards

CIE

Certified Interventional Endocrinologist

ENTRY-LEVEL CERTIFICATE

Case Requirements
  • 50 Total Cases required to ensure sufficient clinical experience
  • Case Documentation via de-identified case logs, billing records, or attestation by from two Certified Interventional Endocrinologists
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
  • Compressive Nodules – 5 Cases with before/after pictures and an image showing the electrode or antenna inside the nodule
  • Toxic Nodules – 5 cases with before/after images and documentation of normalized TFTs (Thyroid Function Tests).
  • Technique verification – 2 proctored cases showing transisthmic approach and moving shot technique (observed in person or via live or recorded video).
  • Conference Participation – 2 years of attendance at NASOIE conferences

Master Certified Interventional Endocrinologist

ADVANCED CERTIFICATE

PRE REQUISITES
  •  Must hold active CIE status for a minimum of one year before applying.
CASE REQUIREMENTS
  • 100 Total Cases required to ensure sufficient clinical experience.
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
  • Technique Verification – 2 proctored cases showing hydrodissection to protect lateral or posterior structures and artery-first or marginal venous ablation (observed in person or via live or recorded video).
PUBLICATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Must publish an original peer-reviewed study on percutaneous thermal ablation. Reviews and abstracts do not qualify.
